"MEN RAPED ME AND GAVE ME HIV. I WILL NOT REST UNTIL I INFECT AS MANY MEN AS I CAN WITH THE VIRUS".-A TRUE-LIFE STORY
A
beautiful young lady who was robbed and raped by some armed men later discovers
that she is HIV positive. “Men are evil and all the same,” she concludes. So
she swears to infect as many men as she can with the deadly virus. If you have
to pick up women of easy virtue from clubs, motels or from the highway, then
you must read this story and learn.
Christy
was only eight when she lost her virginity in a most cruel and defenseless
manner. A neighbour she called uncle who lived next door and who was trusted
like a blood brother by her parents defiled her. Uncle Johnson as the man was
called was long overdue for marriage. While he was teased by adult neighbours
and friends for being an old bachelor, the kids loved him because he doted on
them, always bringing home one biscuits and sweets for them.
The
children loved to run errands for Uncle Johnson. There was always small change
for them to keep or other rewards like biscuits or a piece of cake. Christy,
the oldest child in the compound, was his favourite.
Uncle
Johnson did not give his neighbours any cause to suspect that he was a man of
twisted mind. No one suspected that he could sexually abuse a child. He taught
the children the bible and helped with their homework whenever he was at home.
He never brought home any ladies and often criticized men who kept girlfriends.
He was seen as a saint. How wrong they were.
Christy’s
exceptional beauty and indication of how pretty she would be in the future was
easy to see at a very young age. Her parents ensured that not only Christy but
also her siblings were protected from abuse in school and outside the home. No
one suspected that the place to protect her most was at home.
When
Christy’s mother came home that afternoon to find her daughter who should have
gone to afternoon session school, crying and bleeding, she felt like her world
had come to an end. Uncle Johnson had
used his errand trick to get the unsuspecting girl in to his room before
applying force and deceit to have his way with her.
“Don’t
tell Mama or Papa, you hear me. If you do, you’ll die,” he had warned Christy.
“If they ask you what happened to you, tell them you are not well. Take this money
and buy yourself a meat pie.
Christy’s mother did not take long before she
got all the answers from her daughter. After two weeks of fighting for justice,
the case was settled out of court. “Too
much publicity on rape was bad for the little girl,” someone advised.
Christy’s
parents agreed that the stigma was likely to portray the victim as the villain.
Just like in many cases of rape in Africa, the ugly incident was downplayed and
the rapist went free after spending some money. That was the beginning of Christy’s
hatred for men. She grew up regarding sex as pain; and men as inflictors of
this pain. Little did she know that the worst was yet to come.
In university, lecturers
and students fell over each other to catch her attention. Ladies held unto
their men possessively whenever she was around for fear of losing them to her.
In all this, Christy remained scared of going to bed with any man. It was not
because she knew that the right thing was to keep her underwear on until she
got married. It was the fear of being hurt again.
Eventually, Jubril, a course mate of hers and
long time platonic boyfriend who had craftily wormed his way into her heart.
